Cheese of the Month - January: Baron Bigod

At Lawson's we like to celebrate artisan British cheese and Suffolk food and drink So we're lucky  that one of the best British cheeses to emerge in the last few years happens to be made in Suffolk.

Baron Bigod is a delicious brie-style cheese with a creamy, white bloomy-rind with a smooth silky texture and golden curd.

Made by Jonathan and Dulcie Crickmore at their family farm near Bungay, it is the only traditional raw milk Brie-de-Meaux style cheese produced in the UK. In fact is one of only a few brie-style cheeses that can genuinely be called a farmhouse cheese as it's made on the farm by the farmers using milk from their own Montbeliarde cows.

If you haven't already tried Baron Bigod do come in to sample it and we're confident that you'll soon be converted!
